The film Flight of The Doves, the tale of a brother and sister’s flight from Liverpool to the safety of Ireland, presented an ideal opportunity for UK composer Roy Budd to create a wistful and pastoral musical score, and he included both songs and other elements of traditional Irish music. Budd’s evocative sondtrack combined brilliantly with the beautiful scenery, and the film, featuring performances and title song by the acclaimed Irish singer, Dana, remains a perennial favourite
